Run 1435 Hare: Ah Tooi(absent) + Johnny Pat2 (one man show) Venue: Kampar Jaya Date: 290908

This run saw the return of KJ3H’s prodigal sons Lobert and Kooldip. Lobert was away in Kelante doing some piling for his company, but by the way his Thai has improved, he must be regularly doing some piling on his own in Sungai G. Mean while, Kooldip was in the Land Below the Wind, doing rural electrification during the day time while charging up the local beauties with his own type of electricity when off-duty. All on company expense, no wonder why TNB is not making much money! To help celebrate the coming Raya, he brought along 2 extra crates of beer. Thor chieh, brother.

The sudden change of run site from Chenderiang to Kampar Jaya was successfully relayed to all except Big Ong who was absent during the previous week’s run, a thousand apologies Doctorey! The hare was too busy making money to set the run so he contracted it to Johnny Pat2 who showed he had the balls to do the job all alone despite an offer by China to accompany him. The original run site under the big tree was occupied by the 4H first so the run site was shifted to the end of the road nearer Balls’ jamban.

With the official time keeper away on a wild goose chase, the run started late with GM leading the pack up the road to the old water treatment plant. Just before the dam, 3H paper veered left up the side of the hill for a steep climb before encountering check no. 1. The usual front runners checked up to the left and right without success. It was the middle runners , possibly Lap Cheong or CB Keng who found the check lower down. The paper continued up hill, criss-crossing 4H paper until the top of the hill. He the 4H hare decided he/she has had enough of Pat2’s farts and swings away from 3H paper. Pat2 heads downhill from here towards the back of Kampar Jaya houses. Paper was difficult to follow as it was often covered by fallen leaves.

After crossing a few rocky parts we emerge along the southern bank of Sg. Senudong and eventually re-crossed the river near the hut where we usually have our runs. The front runners made it back in about 75 minutes while most others were back before dark.

At 8 pm, Tiu-Tiu, Ah Fool and Johnny were still not back, but a phone call from Johnny confirmed that all was well. The rested settled down to talk-cock and finish the 3 extra crates of beers, 2 courtesy of Kooldip and 1 courtesy of the absentee Hare. The last runners emerged at about 8.30 pm, after a short rest all adjourned to KC for the usual club fare. Thor Chieh, Johnny for arranging the runs and special thanks to Kooldip for the extra beers. As for the absentee Hare, we know what to do with him when he next shows his ugly face. Scribe: Sai Lap
